It features a curved, form-fitting silicone gel shoulder pad that connects to the back of the baseplate with two 2" M/F rods. The rods screw into the back of the included DSLR baseplate and connect to the front of the shoulder pad via 15mm quick release ports, making it fast and easy to switch from shoulder mount to tripod and back.There's also a ball joint built into the front of the shoulder pad that allows the entire shoulder pad assembly to articulate in multiple directions so you can angle it to fit your body exactly the way you want it, for maximum comfort. The shoulder assembly can be used on the left or right shoulder and a top carry handle makes it easy to place on your shoulder and just as easy to remove it. The handle is also useful for shooting at low angles.The front has two levels for rods: the top level is for mounting follow focuses, matte boxes, zoom/focus motors and lens support; the bottom level rods are used mostly for lens support and single or double hand grips.
